Meccano Junior Advanced Toolbox Set
Meccano Junior is a great way to introduce children to the world of construction, engineering and imagination.
This handy Meccano Junior Advanced Toolbox Set includes 88 pieces they can assemble to build up to 8 different models, from a lorry to a crane, excavator and windmill – or they can design something themselves.
With real working mechanics, add-on wheels, large connecting pieces with snap-on clipping screws, actual tools and step-by-step instructions, young engineers can get to work quickly. Everything fits into the handy toolbox, so they can take their Meccano anywhere – even grandpa’s.
Meccano was invented in 1898 by Frank Hornby, best known for the Hornby railway system. The father of 2 young boys, he created for them a system of parts, nuts and bolts, allowing them to build cranes like the ones that fascinated them so much loading and unloading ships at the Port of Liverpool.
Hornby developed his system and marketed it under the brand name "Mechanics Made Easy" in 1901 - the name developed and was patented as MECCANO in 1907. The rest, as they say, is history.
